Hybrid Bioethics Graduate Programs & Graduate Degrees

Hybrid bioethics degrees are available for students interested in earning either a Master of Bioethics (MBE), Master of Science in Medical Ethics (MSME), a Doctor of Bioethics, or a graduate certificate in bioethics.

Hybrid bioethics programs help students explore the moral dilemmas of the modern healthcare system. Bioethics graduate programs are designed to help students develop knowledge of medical practices, public health policy and existing practices in medical ethics to enable them to carefully analyze healthcare law and practice to make recommendations to protect individual patient rights and wider spread public interest.

Hybrid bioethics graduate programs are typically interdisciplinary.  Students in a medical ethics program might come from a number of different academic or professional backgrounds. Individuals with a background in medical science, economics, social policy, law, public policy, politics, or psychology may be interested in earning a hybrid bioethics graduate degree.

The curriculum of a hybrid bioethics graduate degree program will vary among programs, but bioethics graduate students might take coursework in anything from epidemiology to academic and research ethics, to evaluation methods for health policy.
