According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics post-secondary teachers (college professors) earned a median annual salary of $72,470 in 2014. The 2014 median salaries for elementary, middle, and high school teachers were $54,550, $55,860, and $57,200 respectively. 

The BLS states the 2014 median salary for Librarians was $56,880 per year.  Editors earned a median salary of $56,010, journalists earned a median salary of $37,720, and writers earned a median salary of $58,850.
