The mission of the program is to prepare the IT leaders of tomorrow. We produce critical thinkers who have a solid understanding of fundamental concepts and theory enabling them to continually expand and apply their foundational knowledge to ever-changing technologies and practices. By offering a wide range of courses, flexible structure, personalized attention, and a choice of career focus, we provide opportunities to individuals with vastly differing backgrounds and goals.
We offer a "classroom in the cloud." It provides convenient options to students who are balancing careers, personal life, and academic goals. It enables students outside the metropolitan area to earn their MS degree from Marquette. It allows students to complete their courses and degree if they are out of the area on assignment or permanently relocated. Our online option is highly ranked in the US News Educational Rankings of graduate programs. In 2016, the program was ranked #20. We are a true hybrid program that combines online and traditional classroom experiences.
We facilitate a career change for those without an undergraduate degree in Computer Science.
We have a novel curriculum path called the Integrated Practicum that allows you to simultaneously attend graduate school while starting a career and receiving financial assistance.
The curriculum for this professional degree program spans all of the areas of computing, namely Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Systems. Students can choose to develop knowledge in one of these areas or any combination of them.
