Master of Arts in Teaching; Master of Education
Our MAT program consists of 30 credit hours, including student teaching and a research project. Classes convene in the summer with three mini-courses. Student return in the fall to attend four classes - all taught in the late afternoons and early evenings. The spring semester is reserved for student teaching and a research project. Certification areas include: PreK-6 Elementary; Secondary Education (6-12) in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English, Theatre Arts, History and Social Studies, Government; and PreK-12 Licensure in Studio Art, Dance, Music (vocal-choral), Spanish, French, German, and Latin.
Our M.Ed. program consists of 33 credit hours and candidates must complete all requirements within 5 years. All classes meet in late afternoons and early evenings to accommodate a teacher's busy schedule. The exception being our summer mini-courses.
Our graduate programs in Differentiation are fully accredited by the state of Virginia.
