Doctor of Philosopy in Strategic Leadership
The School of Strategic Leadership Studies develops education and nonprofit leaders through rigorous theoretical study, coupled with practical application through experiential learning. This innovative doctor of philosophy program offers concentrations in: Educational (K-12) Leadership, Nonprofit and Community Leadership, and Postsecondary Education Leadership.
The program emphasizes business principles, accountability, and leadership theory and applications, which are all areas of reform that national groups have touted as important for the new educational and nonprofit administrator. Students will be instructed in management principles and in the broader visionary perspectives necessary for effective leadership roles. The program emphasizes practical applications, yet is grounded in sophisticated research skills that are needed for data-based decision-making models in current practice.
