Program Description:

The ultimate goal of the Cellular, Molecular and Biomedical Sciences (CMB) program is to produce highly qualified, confident individuals ready to take on the rigors of research-related careers. CMB students earn a competitive stipend while receiving rigorous training in experimental laboratory research. Our program has been in existence for over 40 years and includes more than 90 faculty in 14 departments across the UVM campus. This breadth, combined with a collegial atmosphere, provides an ideal environment for interdisciplinary studies of the cellular, genetic, biophysical and biochemical mechanisms that control organismal growth and development and underlie human disease. The CMB program also provides academic and professional development through a flexible curriculum that can be tailored to individual students' interests. This approach is designed to provide the best possible training for a wide range of scientific careers.
