Master in Public Administration
University of Texas Pan American (UTPA) offers a program leading to the degree of Master of Public Administration (MPA). The MPA degree is housed in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The MPA degree is an interdisciplinary program designed to provide students with a basic administrative concepts and competencies that can be utilized in a variety of administrative careers in public and nonprofit agencies. It is the program’s intention to move towards applying for accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).
The Master of Public Administration program prepares students for leadership positions in all levels of government and non-profit organizations. We have faculty involved in cross-border research, and there are many opportunities for students to become involved in international, national, state and local research.

International Student Requirements:
Test of English as Foreign language (TOEFL) - A minimum score of 500 (173 for computer based test) is required for all international students from countries whose native language is not English. Test scores must be sent directly to the University of Texas-Pan American from the Testing Agency. Copies of TOEFL scores sent by the applicant are not acceptable.
