In the fall of 2000, the Department of Communication Disorders at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center was approved for the first Doctor of Audiology program in the Texas in the twenty-first century. Presently, we have approximately 25 - 30 students enrolled in our doctoral program. The history of our program is to keep the size of each class small enough so that students benefit from individualized mentoring from faculty. At the same time, our students enjoy clinical experiences all across the United States in local school districts, major medical centers, in conjunction with physician practices, in independent private practices and industrial settings.
