Professional Master's in Statistics
Students in Rice University's graduate program in statistics find themselves in an environment that allows for close collaboration and independent research. The department's exceptionally strong international reputation in modern areas of statistics means our students work with some of the best minds in the world.
Statistics graduate students at Rice have the benefits of one of the world's leading research universities, enjoy a close working relationship with faculty and colleagues, and have access to exceptional facilities both on campus and in Houston. Computing is an integral part of education in the department, and the faculty is committed to maintaining a first-class computer environment for students. The department maintains a network of servers for its core computing and each full-time graduate student is provided with a desktop computer. Rice's small class size means that graduate students work closely with the faculty in small research groups that often cross-departmental and disciplinary boundaries as well as institutional boundaries.
Our department regularly host visitors from all over the world and we maintain an active post-doctoral program through NSF and NIH sponsorship.
