Program Description:

Fully accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program will give you the tools you need to make an impact and advance the profession of architecture. In addition to the depth of understanding you will gain about the components of architectural practice, you will develop the strategic thinking and communication skills you need to tackle a diverse range of issues from sustainability and urbanism to historic preservation.

The program gives you a wealth of applied learning experience through the Career Investment Program, Community Partnerships Center, Teaching Firms in Residence, the Women’s Leadership Network, and more. The Career Investment Program provides all of our architecture students with a guaranteed paid internship during their studies, an unparalleled opportunity for real-world experience.

For students who wish to study abroad, the M.Arch program offers semester-long abroad opportunities in Buenos Aires, Istanbul, and Beijing, among others.


The Master of Architecture program at Roger Williams University is accredited by the NAAB, the National Architectural Accrediting Board. The program received its last accreditation in 2012. The next accreditation visit is in 2018.

International Student Requirements:

International graduate applicants are required to submit an official evaluation of ALL foreign credentials, and the evaluation must include a course-by course evaluation, including all courses earned toward the undergraduate degree. All international applicants must provide proof of English proficiency by submitting scores from the IELTS or TOEFL exams or demonstrating completion of ELS level 112 coursework. International applicants who have earned a Bachelor's or Master's degree in the U.S. and have completed at least 90 credits of English-based undergraduate coursework during that degree or come from a country whose official language is English are exempt from this requirement.
