Program Description:

The MSW program is designed to provide students with a highly versatile set of advanced skills to work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. The program gives students the foundation to pursue the widest range of professional opportunities to meet the 21st century’s growing demands for social work services including clinical, advocacy and policy career opportunities. WCU’s MSW program offers the highest quality education for the best value in the greater Philadelphia area. In addition to our two-year full-time program, students have the flexibility to take courses on a part-time basis over the course of 3 to 4 years. For students working full-time in addition to attending school, there are opportunities for employment-based internships as well as extended internships. The MSW program also offers a full-time (12 month) or part-time (2 year) advanced standing option to qualified applicants who have graduated within the past five years with a bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The program links students to field placements in growth employment areas such as aging, military social work, substance abuse as well as mental health and public health. Field placements are available throughout 6 counties in southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware.
