Program Description:
The three masters degrees offered from the psychology program are general, industrial/organizational, and clinical, each with their own specialized course structure.
The general psychology proram is designed for students interested in research and/or teaching, and can help students prepare for training at the doctoral level. The 36-credit program is limited to a small number of students with specifically defined educational plans, including enhancement of an exisiting career, additional preparation for study in a doctoral program, and exploration of the field for those who may have a limited backgroun in psychology. Completion of the general program will not provide all the training necessary for a specific career in applied psychology.
The MA in clinical psychology is designed to prepare students to work in a mental health setting or to continue their education. Graduates of this program have been accepted into high-quality doctoral programs. Others have secured desirable positions in the field. Course work is designed to give students both a strong theoretical background as well as practical exerpeince. Students can tailor their program to their specific goals. This is a 48 credit hour program.
The MA in I/O psychology is designed for those in business or industry employment, or those who wish to continue their education at the doctorate level. Program highlights include: research assistantships with tuition waivers available, diverse internships in public and prive sectors, specialization through prudent selection of electives, internships and research, and degree completion flexibility with courses offered during evening hours.
