Program Description:

The master of science in computer science program provides students with the inteelectual and practical tools they will need either to pursue a career as a professional computer scientist in industry or a doctorate degree in computer science. The cirriculum is designed with three goals in mind: 1) To provide a solid foudnationi n the funamental principles of computer science 2) To expose students to a variety of subject areas 3) To expose students to current research topics and to provide in-depth knowledge in several areas of study (through the 600-level couses) Two options are available for students who pursue computer science at the graduate level: the MS program and three certificate programs in computer security, information systems, and Web technology. The three certificate programs are designed for working professionals to increase their knowledge and skills in specialized areas of computer security and information assurance. Each ceritiface may be earned after taking 5 courses (15 credit hours).
