Stormwater management has become a significant issue in recent years. Fundamentally, stormwater management is a both a hydrologic and ecologic problem. The certificate program in Stormwater Management at Temple University’s College of Engineering is designed to enhance the students’ skills in addressing these problems.
The Stormwater Management certificate program offers a course of study that teaches students fundamental concepts supporting the design of stormwater best management practices as well as fundamental concepts that describe why and how improper stormwater management causes such diverse and severe stream ecosystem degradations.
The four-course sequence will provide students with the basic understanding of the effects of urban stormwater runoff on stream channel morphology and ecology and the best management practices available to control both the quantity and quality of runoff.
The Graduate Certificate Program is designed for working professionals who desire to strengthen their knowledge in stormwater management. Students may transfer up to 9 semester hours of course work into the Master of Science in Environmental Engineering program or Ph.D. in Engineering program. All courses are offered in the evening and some are offered online.
International Student Requirements:
For applicants whose native language is not English, the TOEFL or IELTS exam is required with the following minimum scores: 79 on
the internet-based TOEFL OR a 6.5 on the academic version of the IELTS.

Applicants presenting international credentials must provide transcripts/marksheets, and degree certificates or diplomas in their original language. Additionally, applicants must provide literal translations of these academic documents by an appropriate university or government official. All transcripts/marksheets, degree certificates, and diplomas must be sent directly from the post-secondary institution.
