Program Description:

The Professional Science Master’s degree in Computer and Systems Security (PSM–C&S Security) is offered within the College of Engineering Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, ranked 98 in the nation. The program focuses on the technology layer within the cyber-physical security paradigm, and on the tools and methodologies needed to ensure trustworthiness and asset protection of hardware and network systems.  The program is designed for industry needs and work-place readiness with the ability to customize the learning track for desired outcome.

This program emphasizes an experience-oriented approach to learning by offering students a solid foundation in technical knowledge and professional skills, exposure to a hardware-lab with network equipment, preparation for industry recognized certificates and an applied learning or workplace component for students to gain hands-on experience. Graduates will have the tools to take their careers in cyber-physical security to a higher level with this degree.

Eligibility Requirements:

An undergraduate degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited or equivalent institution. Students with an undergraduate degree in a related field will also be considered for admission, though they may be required to complete some prerequisite coursework. For applicants to the doctoral program, a master’s degree is preferred, though not required. A minimum undergraduate GPA of a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). For applicants whose native language is not English, the TOEFL or IELTS exam is required with the following minimum scores: 79 on the internet-based TOEFL OR a 6.5 on the academic version of the IELTS.
