Master of Arts in Art Therapy

Format: Campus

Program Description:

At Seton Hill we offer a Master's Degree in Art Therapy with a specialization in counseling. The program prepares you to combine your love of art and your desire to help others into one creative, inspiring and meaningful career. The Seton Hill University graduate art therapy program is designed to develop compassionate scholar-practitioners, with experiential classes and students making art in almost every course. The program couples a strong foundation in counseling with an in-depth exploration of art therapy theory and practice. Our graduates have worked in a variety of settings. Our courses are taught credentialed professionals in the fields of art therapy, counseling, psychology, and marriage and family therapy. Most faculty engage in part-time clinical work in addition to their teaching and supervising responsibilities. Students also have opportunities to showcase their work at the Harlan Gallery, a professional venue on campus.

Accreditation:

Professional preparation is guided by standards established by the American Art Therapy Association (AATA). The Seton Hill M.A. in Art Therapy with specialization in counseling has been approved by the AATA since 2000.
