Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies

Program Description:

Physician assistants are professionals who practice medicine while under the eye of a licensed doctor. They are trained to conduct physical exams, obtain medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery and prescribe medications under the supervision of a doctor.  They help alleviate a physician’s intense work load and allow better access to patient care and follow-up.

Our program focuses on preparing PA professionals who extend and complement the capabilities of physicians in the delivery of health care in today’s rapidly changing medical environment. We are nationally recognized in rankings by U. S. News and World Report, and offer a strong academic foundation as well as a wide-range of clinical experiences.

We are proud of our reputation and we have created an excellent curriculum that integrates knowledge, skills, patient advocacy and an understanding of team-based practice.  Our graduates are not only sought after but become compassionate and competent professionals delivering high-quality, cost-effective health care in a variety of settings.

Graduate Entry is for students who are planning to enroll in a master’s degree program after the completion of a bachelor’s degree.  These students will earn an M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies in 25 months.
