The Edward R. Murphy Center for Continuing Education and Distance Learning at Elizabethtown College (CCEDL), located in Central Pennsylvania, offers a hybrid (online, blended and classroom based classes) Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The MBA curriculum is designed to provide working adults the skills, knowledge and experience needed to advance into leadership roles in companies and communities. A mix of accounting, finance, marketing, information systems, economics, and ethics and leadership courses will challenge students to synthesize and integrate course content into real-world application. The MBA program will be delivered in a series of six 'eight week sessions' each year. Students who take continuous classes can graduate in two years. The initial rollout of the MBA will be at two of the Center's current off-site locations, Lancaster and Harrisburg in the Spring of 2012. As the program grows, more locations may be added. Murphy Center for Continuing Education and Distance Learning at Elizabethtown College (CCEDL) has been a part of the Central Pennsylvania region for close to 40 years. Over the last ten years, the Center has focused on creating academic programs that fit the lives of working adults. In 2001, the Center introduced the accelerated delivery format. This format delivers immersive five week learning experiences and flexible scheduling options. In 2002, the Center delivered the first online courses offered at the College. Fast forward 10 years, and over 30% of the courses offered by the Center this fall are in online or blended delivery formats. In 2003 and 2009, the Center opened new satellite centers of learning to expand the population of students who have access to an Elizabethtown College education. In 2010, the first two degree programs offered 100% online were introduced. All of these initiatives have positioned the College as a leader in educational programming for working adults.
