Program Description:

The Commonwealth Medical College Master’s degree in Biomedical Science is a program that provides students with a solid biomedical science foundation and an opportunity to explore and prepare for various careers and/or educational opportunities in the biomedical or health science fields. The MBS curriculum has been designed to provide students with a unique and intensive learning experience. Small class size, courses taught by experienced faculty, community health projects, a commitment to student-centered learning, and individualized career and educational planning services are hallmarks of the MBS program. The MBS program is directed at people who are: • seeking a foundation in biomedical sciences to enter a career in the biomedical science or health care fields; • seeking professional growth and advancement in their current career path; • aspiring to further education and/or a career in public health, scientific research, education or biomedical technology; • seeking to strengthen their credentials for application to a health professions school. Student-oriented academic services are the cornerstone of the innovative learning environment for the MBS program, beginning with admissions and orientation and continuing until graduation. The Center for Learning Excellence works with faculty on counseling students to maintain high educational/career goals and helps assure success. In addition, the Office of Student Affairs works closely with all of the details of placement, including assistance with financial aid and housing guidance for the northeastern Pennsylvania area.
