Program Description:

The objective of the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management is to prepare students for leadership positions in nonprofit and philanthropic (grant making) organizations. The curriculum, centering on technical skills specific to the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, is designed to develop the skills necessary to manage and lead financially stable, innovative and effective organizations. Nonprofit is an organizational form that includes such diverse activities as: Community development organizations, human service agencies, employment and training centers, arts and cultural associations, affordable housing, education, sports and recreation activities, environmental protection, health and hospitals, and other public services.

International Student Requirements:

Unless they hold a degree from a college or university in an English-speaking country, all international applicants must submit a score from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT), or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Furthermore, non-native speakers of English applying to the Certificate program must also submit any one of the following to complete their application. Please be aware that this additional requirement for non-native speakers of English applies even if the applicant holds a degree from an institution in an English speaking country or permanent residency in the U.S.: • A score from the Test of Spoken English (TSE), • the Speaking Proficiency English Assessment Kit (SPEAK), or • the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT).
