Graduate areas of concentration include thermal hydraulics, computational methods, and environmental health physics, with specialization in the following areas: nuclear systems safety, nuclear reactor engineering, environmental pathways assessment, risk assessment, environmental transport, numerical methods and analysis, radiation instrumentation and detection methods, emergency response planning, fuel management, nuclear particle transport, nuclear systems design and modeling, radioecology, nuclear nonproliferation, space nuclear power, production of medical isotopes, radioactive waste management, environmental monitoring, decommissioning, radiation dosimetry, reactor health physics, and radiation shielding
