Safety Management, M.S. - Eastern and Northern Panhandle
The College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will deliver the Safety Management program in a blended format with online and on-site classes in Martinsburg and Wheeling, WV, beginning August 2011. Students will have the best of both academic experiences - the flexibility of online learning, short courses, and valuable face-to-face time for critical laboratory courses.
Students will take 12 courses:
* 6 courses are offered completely online;
* 4 courses are offered face-to-face in a classroom in Martinsburg or Wheeling;
* 1 course is mostly online with two on-site (Martinsburg or Wheeling) labs; and
* 1 course can be taken as an internship or an online course.
Each course is seven weeks long. Two courses will be offered per term and will run consecutively. The face-to-face courses will be offered on Saturdays. Students will enroll together in a cohort model and should be able to complete the program in five semesters (approximately 2.5 years).
The safety management degree program is accredited by the Applied Science Accreditation Commission (ASAC) of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).
