Utica College is an accredited, independent, private institution. Founded in 1946 by Syracuse University, Utica is in the heart of Central New York. Graduate Admission Requirements

Utica College uses an online application form. Prospective students are required to complete this form, which includes details such as a personal statement, work history, and official transcript, and submit an application fee. The transcript needs to show award of a bachelors degree and any other graduate degrees. This packet must be received by 30 days after the start of classes. In addition to these basic materials, there may be program-specific requisites

Start Dates

Utica College is on a rolling admissions system, meaning that they do not have an application deadline. However, students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as space is limited.

Are you drawn to cyber forensics and information security? Utica College's online M.S. in Cybersecurity was designed in response to calls from cybersecurity professionals for a graduate-level program that combines ‘state-of-the-art’ practices in intelligence, forensics and cyber operations .

Program Objectives

Utica College’s online M.S. in Cybersecurity seeks to provide advanced know-how and hands-on experience in intelligence, critical infrastructures, and investigative principles. Graduates of the program may take away a grasp of some of the major concepts in cybersecurity, computer forensics, and cyber intelligence. Another main goal of the program is to teach students how to think critically, especially as pertains to decisions related to national security. Students may graduate prepared to apply cyber technology to field operations and with a practical knowledge of cybercrime investigations and evidence maintenance.

Course of Study

Utica College’s 30 credit hour Masters in Cybersecurity program is designed to be completed in about 18-20 months. This is based on students who take two classes per semester. The program provides a core of courses at the heart of the discipline and then allows students to focus in on an area of interest, and complete a capstone project.

Hybrid Format

Utica’s Master's in Cybersecurity program is offered in a flexible, online format with faculty-directed study and a four-day on campus residency. The residency usually takes place about halfway through the program. It is intended to provide a unique opportunity for students to collaborate with faculty and peers. Through it, students get to participate in hands on team/individual lab work using current technology, and to implement what they have learned.
