Translation and Interpreting Studies - Master of Language, Literature and Translation
UWM’s Graduate Program in Translation and Interpreting Studies offers professional translator and interpreter training in a dynamic online environment. Students collaborate with faculty and classmates from around the world to develop the skills needed to succeed in a thriving international market. Multiple tracks of study are available. The Professional Track prepares students to work in the language services industry, with courses such as Business and Professional Aspects of Translation, Project Management in Translation and Editing for the Translation Industry. The Research Track prepares students to go on for doctoral work in Translation Studies and other related fields. The Research Track - Master of Library and Information Science is designed for those interested in pursuing specialized positions in libraries or other research entities, and language-services industry opportunities. The Professional Track - MBA is designed for those interested in careers combining high-level management and administrative skills with excellent language-services skills for careers in business, industry, governmental, and nonprofit organizations. Language pairs available are: English to Spanish, or Arabic, French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish to English.
Students moving to Milwaukee may be eligible to work as Teaching Assistants in associated foreign languages departments and UWM's Language Resource Center.
