Program Description:

The dynamics of today’s fast-paced, complex healthcare system requires nursing leaders with the knowledge and expertise to improve the delivery of patient care and positively influence patient outcomes. Put yourself in that group. Earn your DNP, the highest practice degree in nursing, from USAHS, a university committed to the development of professional healthcare practitioners through innovative, individualized, and quality education.

Program Overview

  • DNP courses are offered online to meet the needs of working students – allowing you to further your education while pursuing your nursing career.
  • Students with MSN degrees from accredited universities can complete the DNP degree in 2 to 3 years, depending on how many credits are transferrable*.
  • Practica are the only courses required to be taken on-site.  You also will have residency opportunities, including an International Service option allowing you to develop a global perspective on health and patient care.
  • Some interprofessional education courses are offered in a compressed, on-campus format to enhance your curriculum.  In this optional format, you will collaborate with classroom peers and faculty in discussions, activities, and advanced coursework.

Flexibility

The DNP program can be completed almost entirely online, providing the opportunity for students, including working nurses or administrators, to obtain advanced credentials and expertise while continuing to work full-time.

As an online USAHS student, you also can take advantage of a variety of extracurricular activities such as journal clubs, group projects, dynamic discussion groups, campus wellness events, and guest lectures at any of the University’s campus locations. In addition, online courses and learning resources can be accessed 24/7 – providing the flexibility to fit the busy schedules working nurses must manage.
