Program Description:

The University of North Dakota's online Instructional Design & Technology Graduate Certificate with an emphasis in Corporate Training focuses on developing IDT skills as they apply to the corporate/organizational sector. Through online courses, you will: -study the latest technology and its uses for teaching and learning. -use a process that is part science and part art to develop effective instruction for the corporate training room. -analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate technology-based instruction that is effective and reflects sound ID principles. -develop computer-based instruction, multimedia, web-based instruction, video-based instruction, and even simulations and games for learning. -design learning for anyone, any time, on any topic, and in any format. As a graduate of the online program, you will be better equipped to: -integrate commercial games into learning environments. -develop new simulations and games around specific content. -understand the theoretical and practical aspects of instructional design consulting. -apply the Human Performance Improvement and Human Performance Technology models and processes. -work as a training designer/developer in any organization that requires systematic and frequent training. UND's part-time, online program is designed for working professionals who are unable to complete an on-campus program. You are not required to come to campus at any time. Pay in-state tuition rates for online courses regardless of where you live. Compared to paying the out-of-state tuition rate, this can translate into big savings for you! The Graduate Certificate is designed for those who do not need or want a full IDT master’s program, but who want documentation of their skills in instructional design and technology. However, all courses in the Graduate Certificate program may be applied to the fully-online MEd or MS in Instructional Design & Technology should you be admitted at a later date.

The UND College of Education & Human Development is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The University of North Dakota as a whole is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

International Student Requirements:

If English is not your native language, you must complete the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) prior to admission. If you have recieved a bachelor's degree or higher from the United States or English-speaking Canada, you are not required to fulfill the English test requirement.
