Program Description:

The Master of Science in Emergency Management program at the University of New Haven was the second such program offered in New England and is designed to focus on disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery.  In addition, the program offers courses on the social effects of different disaster types, the role of the emergency manager in disasters, and disaster preparedness in the public and private sectors.

From firefighters to emergency responders to disaster planners; emergency management specialists are critical to our communities. A Master’s in Emergency Management will equip you to be a leader in this growing field. And, our 100% online program is specifically designed for working professionals.  Only one course is required per term for maximum work-life balance.

Graduates of our program are putting their knowledge into action for employers nationwide.  Emergency Management professionals have employment opportunities in federal, state, and local governments, hospitals, law enforcement, scientific research companies, private sector disaster management, and nonprofit organizations.

No GRE or GMAT is required to apply for the program and a discount is available for sworn officers.

The university is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). International students must provide proof of English proficiency from the TOEFL or IELTS exam or successfully complete ELS level 112 to enroll in courses. A Financial Statement for International Students form is also required along with an original bank statement from the student's sponsor showing adequate funds.
