This program is designed for teachers and administrators interested in pursuing a graduate degree
to be more effective educators and advance in their careers.
The master's degree program in elementary education enhances excellence in teaching by encouraging individual growth and application of research-based techniques and emerging theory in the classroom. In addition, the program builds on basic-level preparation that teachers have received and requires more in-depth study, reading, research, and sharing with classmates in a professional, collegial, academic setting.
The M.Ed. online program prepares teaching professionals to become specialized
master teachers in K-6 classrooms and effectively employ appropriate teaching
practices based on research and emerging technology.
The M.Ed. Elementary Online program is a 30 semester hour program. Students successfully completing this five semester program and a comprehensive exam will earn a master's degree in Elementary K-6. All courses offered in this program are selected from our approved M.Ed. in Elementary Education program and are taught by School of Education faculty.
The School of Education is fully accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
The School also holds accreditation with three specialized associations:
