Master of Science in Social Work
The Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville offers a Master of Science of Social Work (MSSW) degree 100% online. The program features two options:
1. Regular (60 hrs program) - The Regular MSSW online program is designed for those who have earned a bachelor's degree in any area of study, OTHER THAN social work (BSW), and want to start or develop their career in social work and human services. The standard program starts every year in the fall and spring.
2. Advanced Standing - The advanced standing MSSW online program is available for those who have already earned a Bachelor of Social Work, and want to advance their current social work and human services career.

The online program mirrors the on-campus program although you are able to complete your coursework on your schedule. The program combines online learning and hands-on supervised field instruction, completed in your community, which helps you become a part of the fast-growing field of social work.
MSSW graduate students have to option of specializing in specific areas of interest including Psychosocial Oncology, Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Military Social Work or Gerontology. All specialization courses are delivered online. Specializations are not mandatory but most of the students choose to specialize and add valuable knowledge and skills to their current or future career.
