M.S. in Human Resources and Organization Development
The M.S. in Human Resources and Organization Development program has three important facets:
Relevant. The program has a strong emphasis on hands-on, applied projects that provide direct application to the field. Our instructors have experience as practitioners in the field and many currently work in workplace learning-related positions in Louisville and around the country.
Rigorous. Expect to work hard and complete challenging assignments. Our goal is to help you develop the skills to think unconventionally about conventional problems.
Research Based. The program is designed around research-based competencies from the American Society for Training and Development, International Society for Performance Improvement, and the Society for Human Resource Management. Faculty members have strong theoretical and conceptual backgrounds that guide both their teaching and their practical approach to the field.
The MS HROD program is officially recognized as fully aligned with SHRM guidelines and standards.
SHRM alignment ensures that the MS HROD program prepares its students within SHRM’s recommended guidelines for Human Resource education at the graduate level.
Graduating MS HROD students who qualify* are eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP exam.
*Students must be in their final semester of coursework from a SHRM aligned program (MSHROD), be in good standing for graduation, and have a minimum of 500-direct hours of hands on, real world HR experience.
Curriculum quality: Our innovative curriculum and award-winning faculty provide an educational experience you won’t find anywhere else. Our courses align with standard requirements mandated by SHRM. Classes meet via live synchronous online class sessions at a designated time each week (in the evening) to keep students engaged and connected with their professors and classmates. Courses are offered through the University's online course management system called Blackboard. Our online courses allow students to do the following...
