The University of Findlay offers a flexible Master of Arts in Education, either online, on campus or through a convenient blend of both. The program, designed to promote educational leadership, integrates concepts, history, present practices, issues and trends in the field of education.
The College of Education is accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP). Additionally, all online courses are aligned with Quality Matters Standards.
The Human Resource Development strand prepares students to become professional educators. In addition to the graduate education core courses, students are required to complete three courses in various areas of employee instruction, as well as three courses in one of three emphasis options: Athletic Administration, Leadership or Training and Development.
The Athletic Administration emphasis teaches students about the leadership and organization of interscholastic athletic programs, legal aspects of athletic administration and relevant financial concepts. It prepares students for the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association certified athletic administration exam.
Leadership Students who complete this emphasis will improve their effectiveness as organizational leaders. They will learn models and strategies, apply critical thinking, and evaluate organizational behavior.
Training and Development This emphasis focuses on familiarizing students with effective strategies for leading, operating, developing and coaching within the field of human resources.
