Program Information

Degrees Offered:

MS in Computer Science

Format: Online

Program Description:

The UMass Dartmouth Online MS in Computer Science program is a fully online program designed to allow students to graduate in four semesters.

The program provides the students with knowledge of core computer science topics in software, systems, and theory and on this foundation builds each student’s expertise in selected areas of specialization. The program through its set of offered electives has a focus on software rather than on computer systems. This focus is rooted in the research and professional expertise of our faculty.

The program offers the same education as our well established MS program offers in our classrooms on the UMass Dartmouth campus. We make every possible effort to ensure that the on-line course is offered by a full-time experienced faculty member who instructs the same course on our campus. The only difference is in the method of course delivery. We make the same commitment to our on-line students as we have made to our on campus students for the past twenty-five years of computer science graduate education in the Department of Computer and Information Science.

Our students graduate with the knowledge and skills required to develop high quality computer systems and application software. They are trained to be self-learners and follow the rapid changes in the field of computing throughout their careers. As highly qualified professionals, our graduates are ready to build a successful career in the computer industry, research institutions, and government.
