Program Description:

UMass Lowell's Master of Science Degree in Security Studies: Critical Infrastructure Protection Concentration prepares security and law enforcement professionals with the knowledge and competency necessary to manage increasingly complex security challenges at regional and international airports, commuter and commercial railways, maritime ports, and major roadways. Emphasis is placed on integrating a “big picture” policy perspective with an understanding of sensor technologies, transportation security, systems engineering, human behavior, and intelligence analysis.

This 10-course online Master's Degree in Security Studies is available entirely online, providing a convenient format for busy professionals.

Courses are available throughout the year, during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters, and you can take one course each semester or a number of courses a semester, depending upon your own personal time constraints.

RESIDENTS OF Arkansas, Kansas and Minnesota: The University of Massachusetts Lowell is not presently accepting applications or registrations for online courses, degrees or certificate programs from residents of Arkansas, Kansas or Minnesota. Due to recent legislative changes the University of Massachusetts Lowell is not seeking state authorization to offer online programs in those states. State and federal laws require colleges and universities to receive state authorization to offer online programs in states other than their own. Current UML students that move their residence to one of these states should contact Catherine_Hamilton@uml.edu in Online and Continuing Education to determine their eligibility to continue their program of study.
