Graduate Certificate - Gender, Leadership, and Public Policy
Change Your Life and Change the World in a Diverse Cohort of Learners
UMass Boston's award-winning Gender, Leadership, and Public Policy (GLPP) certificate is one of the few programs in the country that explores the intersectional influence of gender, race/ethnicity, and class in the context of the larger policy environment. This certificate prepares students to serve at all levels of government, take on leadership roles in nonprofit organizations, hold elected office, and pursue advanced degrees in law, public policy, and other areas. GLPP graduate certificate students can also opt to apply for the Master of Public Administration (MPA)-GLPP track; if accepted, they can earn an MPA degree in only one additional year.
We invite you to “Request Info” to join our email list. Download our FAQs sheet and GLPP Fact Sheet for more information. Applications are being accepted for both the on-campus and new parallel online GLPP Class of 2020; classes begin in September 2019. The priority deadline is April 15 (applicants must complete the online application by then; supporting documents can follow), and the final deadline to apply is June 1 (*July 1 for the new online option). After these dates, applications are only accepted on a space-available basis. Online progam applicants should choose this option in the application. We urge all applicants to apply early, so your application can be processed quickly, and we can discuss internship options with you over the summer.
