Master's in Software Systems
Today’s world runs on large, complex software systems. You can be the one who builds them.
But first you need the right skills and to get them, you need the most innovative, responsive, and realistic education. Our master’s degree in Software Systems is designed for software professionals who want to move into management and leadership positions. We provide the training and experience to prepare you for that next level.
Real Skills, Real Careers
This is a different kind of online learning. Working in teams on realistic projects, with faculty mentors coaching you, you’ll learn more than just technical skills. Within the first month of the program, you’ll understand how to apply those skills in the workplace. After your first semester, you’ll be changing how you think and how you work. By the time you graduate, you’ll be poised to move from developer to leader.
What to Expect
We teach you to think like a leader. Your coursework will encourage you to think big: to identify what needs to be done and the best course of action for doing it. You won’t focus on one problem at a time, or seek out quick technical fixes. Instead, you’ll be asked to consider all aspects of a professional project before pursuing any one solution.
Industry professionals don’t rely on conventional lectures or rote homework assignments to learn the emerging technologies, tools, and techniques they need to stay at the top of their fields, so we don’t ask you to either. Our part-time program uses a unique story-centered, learning-by-doing curriculum. Experienced professionals, who are also university professors, serve as personal mentors. They guide you, and advise and assess your progress, as you work as part of a diverse team to solve complex, real-world problems and generate real products.
As a Software Systems student, you’ll pick up and practice the same skills top developers and innovators use to stay current and produce new products. By learning and using these skills in an environment structured to foster your success, you’ll have a chance to perfect them and prepare yourself to excel in the workplace.
