Administrators are looking for leaders in innovation at the K-12 level to meet the needs of increasingly diverse students and the challenges of maximizing the effectiveness of the technological resources available to students. Creativity and innovation are becoming a necessity in the classrooms as instruction changes to meet the needs of our students and teachers in a world that keeps evolving at an ever-increasing pace. This online MEd in Educational Psychology focuses on creativity and innovative thinking. The program is intended to increase the personal creativity of professional educators and give them the knowledge and skills they need to foster the creativity of their students and colleagues. The hallmark of this program is the practical application of creative and innovative thinking in K-12 classrooms. This degree is a rigorous program for professionals wanting to increase their knowledge and understanding on how creative and innovative thinking builds a competitive edge in learning. In lieu of an exam, the student will compile a professional portfolio documenting implementations of concepts covered during their coursework. This portfolio can be used in seeking career advancement and provide a basis for assisting other educational professionals with integrating creative and innovative thinking into our schools.
This 36-semester hour graduate degree option in Creativity and Innovation is designed to increase the personal creativity of professional educators and give them the knowledge and skills they need to foster the creativity in others.
