Doctor of Nursing Practice
Simmons College’s Nursing@Simmons program offers licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) the opportunity to earn their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) online.
Nursing@Simmons prepares students to meet the increasing demand for advanced practice nurses in today’s health care landscape. The online DNP program combines strong analytical and leadership principles with evidence-based practice to prepare nurses for the highest level of professional practice.
Our DNP students enroll in one of two degree paths, based on their career goals and educational background.
The Post-BS/BA to DNP program is designed for licensed RNs with a bachelor’s degree. Graduates become a DNP-prepared family nurse practitioner (FNP) without already having earned a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). With full-time and part-time options available, this program can be completed in as little as XX years.
The Post-MSN to DNP program is designed for board-certified APRNs who have already earned their MSN degree. The post-MSN to DNP prepares nurses to become leaders in a variety of health settings, influence health care systems and policies, and improve patient outcomes. With full-time and part-time options available, this program can be completed in as little as 2 years.
