Saint Joseph’s University, is an accredited, private, non-for-profit Catholic university. SJU was founded by the Jesuits in 1851 at Old St. Joseph's Church. Online Student Experience

Online courses are not self-paced, independent study courses. Students are required to complete assignments according to the class schedule, to maintain regular contact with the instructor, and to take part in online class discussions. Some programs do require a weekly session with the instructor. Other programs may require students to log in multiple times per week.

Prospective students need a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.8 along with 4 years of work experience. Most students take 18 credit hours of courses per year, and complete their degree in as little as two years.

Program Highlight: Online MS in Health Administration

Are you concerned about superior patient care? Do you hope to move up the corporate hospital ladder? The online Master of Science in Health Administration (HAD) from Saint Joseph’s University is a practice-based program. Alumni from the online HAD include Fortune 500 executives from the private sector and administrators from hospitals such as John Hopkin’s.

Students in the online HAD program are taught by industry professionals. For instance, health care law is taught by working health care attorneys. Courses cover basic technical and behavioral skills defined by the Health Leadership Competency Model and developed by the National Center for Healthcare Leadership.

The general curriculum for the online Masters in Health Administration requires completing 10 courses or 30-credit hours. One of these is a final capstone course. Among the topics students explore are health care ethics and law, accounting, and financial management. In addition, students select from two different concentration tracks.

For students who choose to pursue the Health Care Ethics concentration, the curriculum is 36 hours taken across 12 courses. The Informatics concentration is 42 hours taken across 14 courses.
