Program Description:

The rise in children receiving autism diagnoses is expected to increase the need for skilled professionals who understand the needs of autistic children.* Professionals in this area utilize behavioral concepts and theories, and develop assessment and intervention skills. Pursuing the applied behavior analysis concentration could help you on your way to becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®). The Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) has verified the course sequence of the applied behavior analysis concentration toward the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® examination. † Students interested in getting a head start on the field experience hours required to sit for the BCBA examination can elect to complete a practicum as part of the applied behavior analysis concentration.

This program was not designed to meet any specific state’s requirements for licensure or certification, and Purdue Global makes no representations or warranties as to whether the degree or any individual courses meet such requirements. Refer to the University Catalog for additional information. It is important to note that, while earning a master’s degree in psychology may qualify you to work in the helping professions, a doctorate degree is required to become a psychologist and a medical degree is required to become a psychiatrist.
