TESOL Concentration (MEd)

The demand for talented TESOL professionals is growing rapidly, with lots of opportunities for new positions and growth in your career in education. If you’re seeking to gain a competitive advantage in the field, our Master of Education with a Concentration in TESOL can help you communicate and teach effectively in an environment of increasing diversity among student populations.

You’ll bridge cultural borders and educate second-language learners as you develop your English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching methodology, curriculum and assessment techniques.  You’ll also become familiar with and learn to understand common multicultural issues that are a natural part of the second language classroom. If you’re a licensed or independent schoolteacher, online educator, higher education professional, or volunteer and you want to improve your ESL knowledge, this program is ideal for you.

In our MEd with a Concentration in TESOL, you’ll:

  • Analyze and evaluate how diversity affects student learning and achievement

  • Be better able to evaluate, design, and adapt best-practice ESL/ELL instructional strategies and resources to meet student needs
