Computing technology touches every segment of society, driving change and innovation in industries like banking, manufacturing, medicine, aerospace, defense, and much more. As organizations adopt and integrate new technologies to compete in the global environment, they require more computer software engineers to lead and implement those new technologies. These individuals must be prepared to develop software products and services for industry and government through software analysis, design and architecture, system verification, and data storage and retrieval, all while managing globally-distributed development.
Penn State's online master of software engineering program recognizes and addresses the need for software engineers to have a body of knowledge that covers an array of software engineering topics. The course content is enhanced through interactions with your fellow students and the faculty. You will move through the program as a cohort, creating a broader environment for collaborating and networking with your peers and faculty, while reinforcing instruction and content.
The degree consists of 12 courses which you will complete in continuous seven-week terms over two years. Your course work is designed so that you can continue to work full-time while earning your master's degree.
Maximum flexibility is maintained by the program in an effort to meet both the professional needs of individual students and academic quality standards.
Penn State is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
