Program Description:

Penn State's online MBA degree program is designed for managers with work experience in fields such as business, engineering, health care, and technology, who seek to position themselves for growth in the global economic environment. The online MBA curriculum integrates cutting-edge business strategies and practical business knowledge — linking management, marketing, finance, accounting, and operations.

The Penn State online MBA, led by the Smeal College of Business in partnership with Black School of Business, Penn State Behrend; Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies; and Penn State Harrisburg School of Business Administration, is designed to offer you an experience customized to fit your busy lifestyle and career goals while delivering a world-class education.

This MBA program incorporates a focus on business strategies, collaborative teamwork, strategic leadership, and an integrative and interactive curriculum across all functional areas of business. The curriculum begins with 39 credits in General Management. Upon completion of the core requirements, you can choose from seven distinct concentrations to gain greater depth of expertise in a particular functional area:

  • accounting foundations
  • advanced accounting
  • business analytics
  • corporate innovation and entrepreneurship
  • finance
  • general management
  • human resource management
  • marketing analytics
  • project management
  • supply chain management

A defining component of our program is the five-day Orientation Residency held at University Park, Pennsylvania, at the start of the program. Designed to acquaint you with aspects of the program in a face-to-face environment, the residency provides an opportunity to meet your instructors and student peers, immerse yourself in a team performance class, and attend workshops covering student advising services, career management, stress management, alumni relations and networking, time management, and online technology. By the end of the five-day residency, you will have already earned credit towards the degree program.

GRE/GMAT waivers may be available for highly qualified candidates.
