Program Description:

The Master of Arts in Ministry enhances the ministry skills of pastors and lay leaders in the local church. The program will prepare you to serve even more effectively in the church and society, whether you are in paid or lay ministry. The program consists of 8 required courses and concentrations (Practical Theology and Pastoral Care and Counseling), each consisting of 4 courses. All graduates of this program must be grounded in the Bible, theology, and historical thought in context of the church.

The Pastoral Care and Counseling Concentration is designed for those who feel the need for enhanced skills in their ministry role of pastoral counselor. The program is not designed to qualify the graduate to work as a licensed counselor, but better equips one for this type of ministry in the pastoral context. The following required courses for a Master of Arts in Ministry with a Pastoral Care and Counseling concentration are listed with corresponding credit hours:
