Master of Civil Engineering - Geotechnical Engineering
Interested in learning the engineering behavior of natural materials? Norwich University’s Master of Civil Engineering – Geotechnical Engineering online program focuses on soil mechanics, soil stabilization, and foundation engineering. This graduate degree is meant to give professionals the ability to handle the most common geotechnical problems as well as the skills to collaborate with other functional experts and handle complex issues. The program places an emphasis on recognizing limitations of approximation methods as well as recognizing and managing uncertainty. As a student, you will learn through numerical modeling and analysis, foundation design, seismic design, and case studies. You will also have the opportunity to participate in weekly discussions to explore non-computational problems, such as implications of uncertainty and ethical decision-making. If you’re in need of refreshing your skills, but do not have the necessary background to be successful in the program, prerequisite courses are available.
