Program Description:

Computer and information security professionals help protect data, secure networks and implement processes that ensure information integrity. Technology minded students enrolled in the MPA degree program can gain the knowledge they need to enter this challenging field through the Computer and Information Security specialization. Focused on the critical links between security theory and the day-to-day security challenges faced by corporations, students will gain essential skills to operate in today’s IT environment.

This specialization examines the essentials of security threats, information assurance and security management in a corporate environment. Additionally, students will explore the field of cyber-forensics including the dangers of cyber terrorism and the evolving U.S. policy response. By the end of the program, students will showcase their knowledge with a final research project that includes investigating a security-related workplace problem, identifying an area for intervention and recommending a plan of action.
