Northcentral University, NCU, is a regionally accredited, graduate-focused, private, not-for-profit, online university that was founded in 1996. NCU provides working professionals around the world with access to richly engaging, professionally-relevant, and academically-rigorous education. NCU’s goal is to channel the brick and mortar methods of higher education into a personalized approach through their one-one mentoring model.
Northcentral is committed to educating professionals worldwide. Their mission is to provide an accessible opportunity for students to earn a degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university. Their values, “I.D.E.A.’s”, include innovation, diversity, excellence and accountability.
Based on data from Fall 2015i, Northcentral University has a total graduate enrollment of 10,861 students and 100% of students are enrolled in distance education. Also, for the years 2014-2015, 57 bachelor’s degrees, 799 master’s degrees, 399 Doctor degrees, and 230 post-graduate certificates were awarded.i Northcentral University is primarily a graduate degree granting university and the number of full-time, first-time undergraduates make up less than 1% of the total student population.
Some prospective NCU students may apply for all applicable federal student aid programs, including Unsubsidized Federal Stafford loans, Subsidized Federal Stafford loans, Federal PLUS (Parent) loans and Federal Pell Grants.i
Application for NCU programs can be completed online, and an application is valid for one year. Generally, students complete the admissions process and begin their first course within 30 days, and NCU accepts students on a continual basis.
International Transcripts: If English is the second language of a student, an official score demonstrating English proficiency is required for admission.
Military Transcripts: NCU provides special assistance in obtaining transcripts for U.S. military students.
Program Requirements: Each of Northcentral University’s online degree programs and non-degree programs have their own admissions requirements. For example, admission to online MBA programs is based on direct entry which means that individuals with a previously completed bachelor's degree in business from a regionally or nationally accredited academic institution may immediately begin the NCU MBA program.
Northcentral maintains a 100% doctoral faculty. There are 87 full-time & 361 Part-time instructional facultyi. Most faculty members have completed their program of study at a regionally accredited institution of higher education in the discipline in which they either teach or develop curricula.
