Program Description:

Delivered by NYU Steinhardt’s Department of Applied Psychology, the online master of arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness prepares students to promote overall mental health and wellness in clients. The curriculum examines contemporary issues facing the mental health field, empowering students with the knowledge and hands-on skills to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.

To earn their degree, students participate in weekly online classes, complete online course work, and interact with real clients during in-person experiences at NYU-approved sites near their community. Upon graduation, students will be prepared to pursue professional licensure and employment in a variety of settings including substance abuse treatment centers, mental health clinics, and college counseling centers.
