The 18-credit, Graduate Certificate in Real Estate provides a comprehensive exploration of the best practices in finance, economics, market and feasibility analysis, accounting, and legal principles in the context of today's real estate industry. The program is designed for students who have earned a bachelor's degree and who wish to obtain a foundation for a career in real estate, as well as for those who hold a graduate degree but seek education in a new career area or specialization within the industry.
The program can be completed fully online, or in a traditional classroom setting, or by blending a combination of the two formats. Each three-credit, online course features 2.5 hours of live instruction per week. Content is delivered in an interactive format that includes online forums and blogs, chats and e-mails, providing students with the opportunity to network with real estate professionals from across the US and around the globe. To complete the online program, students must have a microphone and webcam, and must rigorously and actively participate in the course. Access to a Mac or a PC with at least 256 MB of RAM, and broadband Internet access also is required.
The Graduate Certificate in Real Estate is designed to provide a foundation for professional practice and for further study in the field. It consists of a subset of courses in the master's degree program that corresponds entirely to the first six courses of the core curriculum.
Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Real Estate, students may opt to pursue the M.S. in Real Estate, the M.S. in Real Estate Development, or the M.S. in Construction Management. Individuals who have earned this certificate can apply credits towards completion of any of these degrees.
