Professional Communication in Sports
The Mississippi College Communication Department provides opportunities for students to develop a variety of academic, performance and professional skills. We prepare students to research, organize and effectively deliver oral, written and visual public presentations. Areas of concentration help prepare students to thrive in such diverse fields as radio, television, journalism, theater, business, law, public relations, vocational ministry, government, education and industry.
Our teaching philosophy is built around the practical application of communication principles and theory. Courses use activities to build skills in each area of concentration. State-of-the-art technical equipment help students develop skills and enhance their knowledge. Upon graduation, each student leaves the department with a personal portfolio of work completed during their time at Mississippi College. The portfolio is a record of academic achievement and proof of marketable skills to future potential employers.
Mississippi College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award bachelors, masters, education specialists degrees, the education doctorate and the first professional degree in law.
