Master of Music Education
Improve musicianship and leadership skills with the online master’s in music education program from Lindenwood University. This program allows current K–12 music educators and other music instructors to build on their knowledge and improve their instructional skills.
The program’s faculty consists of experienced musicians and educators who deliver a robust curriculum. Our online master’s in music education program explores key topics such as research methods, contemporary issues, and conducting. Working to understand the historical, philosophical, pedagogical, and aesthetic principles relevant to music education, students will demonstrate effective leadership skills in the musical setting. Ultimately, graduates will be able to effectively develop a program that enhances instructional methods.
To complete the music education master’s program, students will have the option for an applied project or a thesis. The applied project option allows the development of skills in a professional setting or a final product. The thesis requires writing a relevant piece of scholarship that investigates an area of the field.
